Why did you say yes to this campaign? What was your WHY to participate?

I can’t explain my Why for this campaign, I read it on social media and something about it just spoke to me! I booked my place straight away without overthinking it. It’s something that I have never done before and I loved the idea of celebrating this stage of my life.

Tell me a little about you and your story:

I’m married to David for 22 years. We have three children and three dogs! I work as a Social Care worker with people with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. It’s a challenging but very rewarding career. I also run a small business in which I create personalized gifts and candles for people. Creativity helps me deal with the stresses of everyday life and makes other people happy, that is the part that brings me joy. I love to travel and try to go away as often as I can, usually with my family or my two sisters. There are many parts of the world that we are planning on exploring in the next few years. I have some wonderful friends and try to catch up often, this means a lot to me.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

Somebody who is doing their best!

Describe yourself in 3 words:

Emotional. Adventurous. Fun.

Do you feel like you have changed since turning 40?

Yes definitely. I think turning 40 certainly made me stop and evaluate a lot of areas in my life.

What advice would you give to your younger self about caring for yourself?

Not to be so hard on myself.

What do you consider self-love?

Forgiveness and acceptance. Taking time for myself and doing things that make me happy.

What do you love most about your new portraits? Is there something new you discovered about yourself?

I love my portraits. I can’t believe how beautiful they are! I was very nervous and felt quite awkward at times but trusted Olga and her process and she did not disappoint. As it was something I had never done before it really pushed me out of my comfort zone but I’m so happy I did it. It was an amazing experience and one I’d recommend to everyone.

What was your favourite part of working with me?

My favourite part of working with Olga was how relaxed she made me feel. She is such a professional and I just went with her advice and guidance even though I felt self-conscious. After a while she put me at ease and I really enjoyed the experience. One I will treasure forevermore!
