Why did you say yes to this campaign? What was your WHY to participate?

I think this campaign portrays people’s lives beautifully. Also giving them some time out for themselves.

Tell me a little about you and your story:

I am from Breaffy Castlebar. I have 3 wonderful children who are my best friends. I’m lucky to live near my sisters and brothers. I used to own a fashion shop years ago. Life changes and we move on. I now work on Baxter Pharma Care. I enjoy my work. In my late 40s I was diagnosed with cancer, I survived thanks to medicine, family and friends who were so supportive through my journey. Even though it was scary my attitude was to keep strong, hence the tattoo on my wrist when treatment ended. I am thankful for my everyday and have started another chapter of my life. Family is very important to me and of course my two dogs. I love travelling, music, and going to concerts. At the moment life is good so what more could I ask for?

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

I see someone who is excited about what is ahead and plenty of laughter lines.

Describe yourself in 3 words:

Strong. Kind. Happy.

Do you feel like you have changed since turning 60?

Yes as life teaches you from different experiences… some good, some bad, I do believe you get wiser and less stressed with age. I think I have learned many lessons as time moves on but family is always important no matter what age you are.

What are the most rewarding things about getting older?

You can take a step back and enjoy and appreciate things you once hadn’t time for.

What has been the best life lesson you have learned along the way?

Trust you gut feeling always.

What advice would you give to your younger self about caring for yourself?

Try to accept your capabilities and not pressure yourself to be someone you are not.

What is your favourite quote?

I have been many women in my life.

I have been the provider and protector.

I have been the lover and the fighter.

But the woman I value most will always be the survivor.

Ravenwolf.

What do you love most about your new portraits? Is there something new you discovered about yourself?

Age is a number and dreading turning 60 is not so bad. Iam blessed with a lovely sister and her family who gifted me this photo session. I discovered this was fun glamorous and time out for me. It made me feel more confident to see the results of the pictures Olga created . Life can be mundane… This was so much fun and yes I smiled more than ever.

What was your favourite part of working with me?

I enjoyed spending time with Olga. Watching her set up Lights Camera Action! She is a magician at what she achieves. Her attention to detail is reflected in her work. She makes you feel very comfortable and she is a real people person. I admire her creativity. I had a wonderful experience with Olga and would recommend to anyone to take the opportunity to do a photo session with her.

Would YOU like to be part of this campaign celebrating women in their 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and beyond?
