Why did you say yes to this campaign? What was your WHY to participate?

I wanted to do something for me, and my why & yes is because I wanted to celebrate this next phase of my life. I’m not one for photos and I knew Olga was the one to capture this stage of my life.

Tell me a little about you and your story:

I’m a mother of 3 and married to James. I hail from Wexford originally and moved to Mayo 20 years ago. Im the eldest of 7 children. I’m a busy florist and When I’m not creating beautiful florals you will find me at the sideline at a Football match! I love my family & my job. I enjoy going to the gym, walking and catching up with friends.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

I can have mixed feelings when I look in the mirror; both positive and negative. Sometimes I point out every “imperfection” I have and give myself a hard time. I’ve even avoided looking in the mirror altogether at times. Other times, I see someone who has come a long way and is strong. I see someone who is working on themselves and is learning not to be so hard on herself!

Describe yourself in 3 words:

Independent, Creative & Caring.

Do you feel like you have changed since turning 40?

I realized I’ve aged but I appreciate the simple things, my family & friends. Health is your wealth! I’m comfortable in my own skin these days and I now realise that my best days are ahead.

What are the most rewarding things about getting older?

For me it’s supporting our children to be the best version of themselves! I no longer sweat the small stuff, appreciating the simple things & taking time out for myself.

What has been the best life lesson you have learned along the way?

Walk your own path & make every moment count.

What advice would you give to your younger self about caring for yourself?

Love and look after yourself. Do something you’re good at and don’t give up!

What is your favourite quote?

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.

What do you love most about your new portraits? Is there something new you discovered about yourself?

I just love them! I just can’t believe that’s me… I definitely wouldn’t be one for the camera but this has pushed me outside of my comfort zone and I’m delighted. I’m in my late 40s and like every woman I devote my time to my family and my work so the years have slipped by. The process from picking outfits to the final photo was such an exhilarating feeling. It’s a spiritual journey and I would highly of me recommend it to every woman. Let’s celebrate women and build each other up. The Eternal Grace Campaign has taught me that yes I’m not 25 anymore but I’m 48 and have a full life ahead of me, dreams to fulfill & I’m looking forward to it all with excitement.

What was your favourite part of working with me?

Where do I start? I was so nervous traveling to Charlestown that morning. I’ve hit menopause and I definitely went through a period of very low self-esteem. But the morning with Olga was so much fun. My makeup was done by the lovely Jodie Nixon (what a treat), Olga had a good look in my suitcase and helped me pick my outfits, and really put me at ease… We had the chats and Olga showed me how to sit and stand for my photos. From beginning to end it was fantastic.  My favourite part was how you’ve made me feel Olga. You are so kind, so professional, and just a lovely person. Thank you for helping me find myself again.
