Why did you say yes to this campaign? What was your WHY to participate?
Received as a gift from my family. My sister took part earlier on this year and it seems I never stopped talking about her photos. So tah dah they got it for me. While I’m apprehensive about the process if they turn out as well as hers I’ll be very happy, have very few photos of myself.
Tell me a little about you and your story:
I’m really enjoying life at the moment and feel very blessed. I’m working part-time at a job I really love and enjoy every minute of it. I am surrounded by my family (husband, four sons, their wives /girlfriends, not to mention my adorable, edible grandchildren Harry Alfie and Millie). I feel very lucky when so many young people have emigrated. Family is very important to me and there’s nothing I love more than a family get-together with my siblings, nieces and nephews where everyone can just relax and be themselves – a few deochs and a shouty sing song – friends are always welcome too. Life is good and I am lucky.
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Lots of lines, flaws but you just have to make the most of what you’ve got.
Describe yourself in 3 words:
Loyal, kind, sociable.
Do you feel like you have changed since turning 60?
Not really. Became a granny since I turned 60 and I’m loving every minute of it. It is such a wonderful time and you have time to enjoy them.
What are the most rewarding things about getting older?
Life is not so pressured. You know what you are about and there is still so much to look forward to.
What has been the best life lesson you have learned along the way?
Family is everything.
What advice would you give to your younger self about caring for yourself?
Wear factor 50 and say NO more often.
What is your favourite quote?
You won’t always remember what people say to you but you will always remember how they made you feel.
